Eindhoven, Friday 10 April 2026
Leveraging nearly €70 million in regional capital, a new Eindhoven partnership aims to build a comprehensive artificial intelligence ecosystem, launching with a major hackathon today.

Forging a Regional Powerhouse in Artificial Intelligence

The Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and the AI Innovation Center, situated at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE), have formally united to accelerate the scaling of next-generation artificial intelligence enterprises [1]. This strategic alliance is designed to cultivate an end-to-end AI ecosystem—spanning from foundational semiconductor chips to advanced software applications—thereby bolstering the region’s international competitive standing [1]. The AI Innovation Center already serves as a hub for more than 40 AI companies [1], providing a fertile ground for software scalability and the digitalisation of legacy industries [GPT].

Catalysing Innovation Through Collaboration Today

The joint activity programme officially commences today, Friday, 10 April 2026, with a major event: Brabanthack_26 [1][2]. Hosted at the Conference Center High Tech Campus Eindhoven, the hackathon brings together developers, data scientists, entrepreneurs, and researchers [2]. Participants are collaborating on practical, real-world challenges across highly specialised domains, including Deep Tech, Defence, Decentralised Energy Systems, Medtech & Life Sciences, and Plant-Based technologies [2].

Strengthening the Broader Digital Economy

Beyond immediate funding and hackathons, BOM is actively involved in several structural initiatives designed to fortify the wider digital and technological landscape in Brabant [2]. These include the Data Acceleration Plan, the expanding AI Community Brabant, the House of Cyber, and the AI Supercomputing Initiatief Brabant [2]. These programmes collectively address critical infrastructure needs, from cybersecurity frameworks essential for protecting financial technologies (Fintech) to the high-performance computing power required for training complex AI models [GPT].

Bridging the Talent Gap for Future Growth

The EBT event facilitates vital connections between the academic world and the corporate sector, hosting over 80 participating companies, including global consultancy and consumer goods giants such as McKinsey, Deloitte, and Procter & Gamble [3]. Through a robust schedule of more than 100 activities—averaging a minimum of 1.25 activities per participating company—students can engage in CV and LinkedIn checks, training days, and direct networking opportunities [3].
